Oh, wonderful! Worthy of John Clare. Such carefully observed and appreciative details.
I also loved the "summer of my life" sequence -- we still dance to the music of life but some tasks are more difficult. We still love the "whole round earth", right?
Lovely summer hymn.
Off to walk in Saxe Pt. trees by the ocean, thermos of tea in hand.

Something I'm working on this morning.
Why Do I Love Summer?
I love summer with its fullness, its completeness.
The roses glow in all their ripe redness, and their scent reaches out on tendrils of light that only the bees can see.
Sweet peas in every shade of the rainbow dance on long stems in the breeze, beckoning with their enticing ribbons and folds of silky smoothness to the bees of gold and shiny black, to sip their sweet nectar.
The sky, so blue, so purely blue, embraces the whole round earth in its blueness and blesses us all with its purity.
On the green tomato plants there are ripe, round, red tomatoes, so strongly scented, so vivid in their redness, and so loudly shouting out to those who can hear, “I am ripe. I am full of seeds that will grow into my offspring. Hear me calling you. Take me and eat me but please plant my seeds. Next year I will return through my descendants!”
The leaves on the maple and oak trees are now at their greenest and their largest. They tremble on the ends of branches, turning to catch every ray of the summer sun, so high, so bright, so radiant, and with their mysterious tree magic, they turn the golden rays into Tree.
Like me, the summer of my life was full and beautiful. My body was strong and supple. My hair was long and thick and sparkling with the energy that vibrated throughout my body. My eyes danced to the music of life. No task was too great. No dream was too big. I loved the world and I loved myself.
In my heart I would have summer last forever.
