Golly, mine was supposed to be a haiku. Looks like Google garbled it.
Thank you for your beautiful poems, Jane & Amber. I'll add them to our 2021 Oasis.

With the picture of the 4 of you:

In our patio scene
Amber's Chinese red scarf soars
with the vivid umbrellas.

Thank you, Lorraine and Amber!!  You have extended the beauty of the day with your reflections, senses, colours, and naming of plants and their details -- and on to renewal!
Lorraine, I'm glad the heron got in on this series.
Rich words to add to our rich days, merci bien!  I'll put them all in my "year of creativity" book which has been languishing neglected.
love,
Jane

A path, between sea and prairie, sky and earth
Crunchy gravel underfoot

What plants are these
Their summer colours burnished
By sunshine rays
Into brown, copper, and sandy stems
Seeds and berries
Suspended now
Soon to fall or fly to other soil
Lying dormant till the Earth makes one-half cycle
And all life is renewed.

Thank you for the 2 photos, Lorraine.

My haiku of the day, with thanks to all for our reunion and experiences:

Michell's Farm    September 23, 2021.

The Fields Stretch Out Before Us

Red umbrellas bloom,
signal joyful company
and provident fields.

How about someone else write a haiku about our walk by the ocean and through the tree-lined path?  I'll wait for it.
love,
Jane
